Nick Jewell enters his fifth year at MIT in 2023-24 as he was promoted to the position of manager of intramurals, club sports and sports camps in June 2021. He joined the staff in 2019 as the administrative assistant for Club Sports, Intramurals and Sports Camps and then was in the interim manager role for six months prior to his promotion.
Jewell came to MIT from nearby Suffolk University, where he worked as the student services coordinator for the INTO Suffolk University program since June 2018. In that role, he oversaw the transition of 200 international students with low-level English speaking skills into full-time Suffolk University students, as well as organizing events, housing and academic advising.
He has also been active in positions within athletics, serving as the Club Ultimate Frisbee head coach at Wentworth University since December 2018 and working as an intramural sports supervisor at Colleges of the Fenway since October 2018.
Jewell earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 2013, where he was a psychology major with a concentration in human factors and a minor in parks, recreation and tourism management. He then went on to earn his Masters of Education at Clemson in 2017.
During his time as a student at Clemson, Jewell was an academic coach for student-athletes in the Spring 2017 semester, as well as the Club Ultimate Frisbee head coach from August 2013-May 2017.
