After two years away from the MIT women’s tennis program,Peter Varnum returned to the Engineers as a volunteer assistantcoach in 2013-14.

Varnum played his collegiate tennis at Division III CarletonCollege in Northfield, Minn. where he garnered all-conferencehonors for three years in singles and doubles and earned abachelor's degree in English. He played in the singles lineupanywhere from 2-5 and all three doubles positions. 

Varnum is excited about having the opportunity to work with sucha dynamic group of women, and hopes that the season brings themlots of success and fun. He lives in Somerville and attends TheFletcher School at Tufts University.
