Rob Watts

Rob Watts is in his ninth year at MIT in 2023-24 as he was promoted to Director of Sport Performance in Spring 2019 after serving as the assistant coordinator of sport performance.

As director, Watts oversees and manages all aspects of the Sport Performance Program and provides instruction and guidance in strength and conditioning to all of MIT's varsity athletic teams. He also serves on the department's committee for approving all sport coach written self-directed programs for student-athletes.

Prior to his time at MIT, Watts was a sports performance coach at Velocity Sports Performance in Norwood, Massachusetts and also served as a strength and conditioning intern at Harvard University.

In 2015, Watts received his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Lasell University, where he was a member of the men’s basketball team.

Watts is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
