Sarah Roger Shannon enters her fifth year at MIT as an athletic trainer in 2026-27. In the spring of 2026 she received the SAAC Superior Service Award for her work as an athletic trainer with the Engineers' intercollegiate athletic programs.
 
Shannon earned her Bachelor of Science in athletic training from the University of Connecticut in 2016, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then graduated from the University of Delaware in 2018 with her Master of Science in kinesiology and applied physiology in addition to working full time as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.
 
From there, Shannon spent one year in Buis Creek, North Carolina working with the Campbell Camel's football and women's basketball teams before completing a Neurotrauma and Spine residency at Boston University which she completed in 2020 before moving on to nearby Lesley University, where she served as the head athletic trainer from September 2020-June 2022.

Outside of MIT, Shannon enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, and spending time with her daughter, husband, and two dogs Raleigh and Jager.
