MIT has also been recognized by the NFHCA for having the highest team GPA for the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons.

A 2008 graduate of BU where she was a four-year standout for the Terriers, Shute was a member of the coaching staff since 2010 and was promoted to associate head coach in Spring 2014. During her tenure, the Terriers captured four Patriot League regular-season and tournament championships while boasting seven All-Americans, 31 All-Patriot League selections and 10 Patriot League Athlete of the Year performers. In addition, the BU staff was tabbed as the Dita/NFHCA Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

As a player, Shute graduated ranking third in career goals (45) and fourth in career points (107). During her senior season, the Terriers advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time since 1991 as the team claimed three straight America East titles during her final three seasons.

Shute earned her undergraduate degree from BU’s School of Hospitality Administration in 2008 and finished her Master’s degree in 2017 from the School of Education with a concentration in physical education and coaching.
