Tom Cronan enters his 26th year as the Walter C. Price ‘70 Family Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer at MIT in 2026-27.

Cronan has led an effort to develop MIT as an effective clinical placement site for BU undergraduate students studying to become athletic trainers.

BEFORE MIT

Prior to his arrival at MIT, Cronan was an athletic trainer at Boston University for 11 years.

EDUCATION

Cronan received his B.S. in Athletic Training from Northeastern University, an M.Ed. from Boston University.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and holds licensure as an athletic trainer in the state of Massachusetts.

FAMILY LIFE

Cronan resides in Norwood, Mass. with his wife, Dotty and their daughters, Erin and Kelly.
