Lauren Ayers

A 2013 graduate of MIT with a degree in nuclear science and engineering, Lauren Ayers will be with the MIT women's lightweight team during the Fall of 2015 as an assistant coach.

While at MIT she worked in the H.H. Uhlig Corrosion Laboratory, was awarded the Irving Kaplan Award for academic excellence by a junior and won the Outstanding UROP award for outstanding academic research during her undergraduate career. Lauren previously coached for Brookline High School from 2013-2015.

Ayers learned to row in 2009 as a walk on for the Engineers. She was voted Most Inspirational Oarswoman from 2011-2013 and was a team co-captain for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons. Now competing for the Riverside Boat Club, she won the lightweight women's single at Canadian Henley in 2013. Ayers has also placed third at the Head of the Charles in the lightweight women's single in both 2013 and 2014 and won the 2014 Fall Speed Order in the lightweight single.
