Brauer also assists the Director with the day-to-day activities and enforces proper usage of the MIT athletics brand internally and with outside vendors.

Brauer has played an integral role in the development and maintenance of the web presence for the Engineers upon her arrival in 2003. In addition to providing written contributions to the MIT sports annual, she was the coordinator of the MIT COOP Student-Athlete of the Week program. Brauer has served as the primary media contact for numerous postseason championship events, including the 2006, 2007, 2015, and 2021 NCAA Women’s Volleyball New England Regional and the 2009 North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Championship Tournament.

From August 2009 to July 2011, Brauer was promoted to Interim Director of DAPER Communications, Promotions, and Marketing. During her tenure, she managed the installation of an Academic All-America Hall of Honor and banners celebrating the Engineers’ team conference championships. In conjunction with MIT’s 150th anniversary, Brauer was instrumental in producing a timeline mural which features nearly 200 memorable moments in MIT athletics history.

Brauer is a five-time recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Grant Burger Media Award for Division III women’s volleyball in the New England region. She was selected for this award following the conclusion of the 2006-07, 2007-08, 2009-10, 2013-14, and 2018-19 academic years.

In 2016, Brauer was honored with the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Achievement Award for the College Division. The award is presented to an associate or assistant sports information director in recognition of exceptional contributions, service and dedication to their institution or conference office and to the sports information profession.

In August 2018, Brauer began serving on the CSC Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She then became a member of the MIT Division of Student Life Diversity and Inclusion Staff Engagement Advisory Board in February 2019. Brauer was selected to serve on the DAPER Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee in September 2020.

Prior to coming to MIT, Brauer was the Assistant Sports Information Director at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York for one year.
