Sophomore Yorai Shaoul captured the national title in the triple jump this weekend at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Shaoul took control of the event with the first jump, hitting 49 feet, 11.25 inches and clearing 15-meters in three attempts. Shaoul ended up as the National Champion by almost nine inches, becoming the ninth MIT men’s indoor track and field athlete to win an individual national championship and the first for the team since 2005-06. His performance helped the No. 6 ranked MIT men's track and field team to a seventh place team finish at the meet.
