THE BASICS:

- The Lead: At the 2019 Connecticut College Invitational, the No. 12 ranked MIT men's cross country team finished second out of 28 teams with a total of 96 points. No. 1 ranked Williams captured the meet with 47 points as the Engineers defeated six nationally-ranked programs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Sophomore Andrew Mah (Newton, Mass.) finished 10th out of 409 finishers with a time of 24:53.3, followed in 15th place by Sanjay Raman (Seattle, Wash.) in 25:02. Sophomore Matthew Kearney (Austin, Texas) was the third Engineer finisher in 21st place at 25:14.2, while first-year Vedang Lad (Plainsboro, N.J.) crossed in 22nd in 25:16. The final scoring runner for MIT was first-year Sam Acquaviva (Newburyport, Mass.) in 28th place with a time of 25:20.7.

- Senior Josh Derrick (Winnetka, Ill.) finished 36th in 25:26.2, while sophomore Ryan Wilson (Redwood City, Calif.) was 42nd overall with a time of 25:30.
