HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After a quick 4-0 Clark lead, MIT quickly used back-to-back threes from sophomore Alex Cho (San Diego, Calif.) and junior Ian Hinkley (Raleigh, N.C.) to seize a 10-6 edge at the 15:54 mark. A dunk by first-year Kael Kordonowy (Wichita, Kan.) put the Engineers ahead by double digits at 24-14, but the Cougars quickly countered with back-to-back triples of their own from Charles Stevens and Anthony Grzemski.
- MIT answered with a commanding 19-2 run over a span of 7:14, capped by a Hinkley three that gave the visitors their biggest lead of the first half at 43-22. Clark's Zackary Mittelstadt nailed a three with 1:03 on the clock as the teams headed to the break at 43-25.
- The Engineers connected on 9-of-19 three pointers in the first half and picked up 13 assists on 17 made field goals. Cho was the top scorer at 14 points, followed by Hinkley with 12 as both players converted four three-pointers over the opening period.
- In the second half, MIT stretched the lead to 20 for the first time at 54-34 on a Hinkley three and led by at least 15 points over the final 10:39 of the game.
- The Engineers firmly put the game out of reach over a span of just 3:39 as a three-pointer by first-year Matas Masys (Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.) capped a 15-0 run that staked MIT to an 82-55 lead. Neither team scored over the final 3:25 of play as the Engineers completed the regular-season series sweep of the Cougars.
