- The Lead: The 13th-ranked MIT men's soccer team extended its winning streak to six as the Engineers defeated Wheaton 3-1 on the road on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game was scoreless for much of the first half before senior Peter Novoa (Omaha, Neb.) beat the Wheaton defense and put the ball in the back of the cage at 33:13 to give the Engineers the 1-0 lead.

- At 43:52 the Lyons got even on a goal from Alasdair Ferrier who placed the shot inside the right side of the goal.

- MIT took the lead in the second half when senior Noah Faro (Rexford, N.Y.) sent a pass over to junior Will Seiple (Portland, Ore.), who headed it in for the goal at 57:16.

- The Engineers' third goal of the contest was an own goal at 73:15, but Wheaton looked to respond as the Lyons offense got to work in the game's remaining minutes. The MIT defense, anchored by junior goalkeeper Paarth Desai (Lawrenceville, Ga.) did not allow another goal as MIT sealed the 3-1 win.
