- The Lead: At the season-opening Quinsigamond Snake Regatta, the MIT women's openweight crew team was led by a victory from the V8 boat as all four boats performed well for the Engineers.

A LOOK INSIDE THE RACES:

- In the A boat of the Collegiate 8's event, the Engineers crossed in a time of 15:02.98 to finish nearly 18 seconds ahead of Middlebury. The MIT B boat crossed in eighth at 15:57.643, which was just behind the A boat from the University of Vermont and just head of the Middlebury A boat.

- The C boat of the Collegiate 8's finished in 16th place out of the 23 competing crews with a time of 16:55.25.

- In the 4+ race, the Engineers finished in second out of 18 boats. The team crossed in a time of 17:11.407, which was 18 seconds in front of the crew from Middlebury.
