The Lead:Â The MIT sailing team concluded its fall season with three regattas over the weekend. The Engineers were met with some challenging conditions, including a lack of wind which forced the Nickerson Trophy to be deemed incomplete.

- In the conference championship event, the Engineers dealt with light and tricky conditions with lots of current on the Thames River.

- Junior
Sam Bruce (Severna Park, Md.) and senior
Abby VanLonkhuyzen (Yarmouth, Maine) led the 'A' Division boat to a seventh-place finish with 121 points. They finished the regatta with five top-five finishes.

- In the 'B' Division, junior
Maks Groom (Seattle, Wash.) and senior
Wendy Wu (Andover, Mass.) placed tenth with 128 points and three top-five finishes.

- The Engineers had a strong showing in the 'A' Division with a second-place finish with 67 points. Led by graduate student
Dana Haig (Beach Haven, N.J), sophomore
Brooke Schmelz (Monmouth Beach, N.J.), senior
Grace Mao (Overland Park, Kan.), and sophomore
Samantha Karlson (Groton, Conn.) the team had six top-five finishes with one victory.

Emily Scherer (Oshkosh, Wis.), sophomore
Lucy Brock (Austin, Texas), sophomore
Yitan Zhu (Katy, Texas), and junior
Jemma Schroder (Menlo Park, Calif.) finished 12th with 123 points as they finished in the top-10 five times.

NICKERSON TROPHY | Medford, Mass. | Incomplete - 14th of 16 (71 points)

- With little to no wind over the weekend, not enough races were completed, and the regatta was declared incomplete with no winner declared. MIT sat in 14th at the end of Sunday.

- First-years
Alex Horne (Broomfield, Colo.) and
Shrika Eddula (Dallas, Texas) placed 13th in the 'A' Division with 50 points with only four races completed.

- In the 'B' Division only two races were completed. First-years
Brooke Barry (West Hartford, Conn.) and
Lucas Escandon (Brock, N.J.) finished 11th with 21 points and earned the 11th spot over BU by finishing ahead of them in the last race.Â
