Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.), the MIT men's basketball team fell to Keene State by a 102-90 non-conference final on Saturday at Spaulding Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- MIT jumped out to a 21-17 lead over the first eight minutes of the opening half, led by 11 straight points from Delgado-Gonzalez. A layup from first-year
Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) pushed the lead up to 23-17 with 12:05 on the clock before the Owls moved in front at 26-25 on a dunk by
Octavio Brito. Keene State pushed the lead to double digits at 37-27 and took a 53-37 advantage into halftime after a quick 5-0 spurt to end the first half.

- Keene State extended the lead to 20 at 63-43 on a layup from
Nate Siow early in the second and maintained a margin before MIT cut the lead to 10 at 81-71 following a three-pointer by first-year
Landon Dolvin (Westfield, Ind.) at the 6:14 mark. That was the closest the Engineers would get though as the Owls picked up the 12-point victory in the all-time series.

- Delgado-Gonzalez finished with 38 points on 13-for-21 shooting with seven rebounds, along with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists from sophomore
Kade Killeen (Austin, Texas). Minicozzi posted an 11-point, seven-rebound outing and Dolvin added 10 points.

Jeff Hunter led the Owls with a 27-point performance as five Keene State players finished in double figures. Hunter also had a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Brito had 23 points and 10 rebounds.
