- The Lead:Â The MIT men's tennis team opened up the spring season with a 6-3 win over Division I Boston University on Friday afternoon. The Engineers are now 25-26 all-time against the Terriers as MIT earned its first win over the D1 squad since the 2016-17 season.

- In doubles, MIT earned wins in the second and third spots with first-year
Daniel Antov (Austin, Texas) and first-year
Carl-Herman Grant (Oslo, Norway) notching a 6-3 win in the second spot and first-year
Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore
Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) notching a 6-3 win in the third slot.

- The Engineers won four of the six singles matches with junior
Derek Shen (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) leading off with a three-set win (7-6, 4-6, 6-3) win over
Dion Loutas. The Engineers earned straight-set singles wins by junior
Richter Jordaan (Denver, Colo.) and first-year
Ryan Xiao (Cary, N.C.).
