The Engineers took a 5-3 win over Allegheny and followed that with an 11-3 win in five innings over Elmhurst. MIT extended its winning streak to four games.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One vs. Allegheny

- First-year Mackenzie Bivin (San Diego, Calif.) hit her first collegiate home run in the top of the third to give the Engineers a 1-0 lead.

- The Gators converted on a double steal in the fourth and took the lead off a groundout in the fourth.

- MIT responded in the top of the fifth with first-year Dana Bell (Bensalem, Pa.) singling home junior Haley Samuelsen (Houston, Texas) to tie the game. Pendowski then launched a ball over the leftfield wall to plate three more runs and make it a 5-2 game.

- Allegheny got one back in the bottom of the inning to make it a two-run game, but senior Anya Chase (Wells, Maine) got out of the inning without allowing another runner to score. First-year Becca O'Connor (San Antonio, Texas) came in to relieve Chase and held the Gators at bay to secure the win for MIT.

- Chase went the first five to earn the win, allowing seven hits and three runs. She struck out three and walked one. O'Connor earned her first save as she gave up no walks or hits and struck out two.

- Bell and Pendowski led the Engineers with two hits each while Pendowski had a game-high three RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two vs. Elmhurst

- Pendowski got MIT on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI single to plate Bell. Sophomore Mackenzie Relihan (Naperville, Ill.) doubled home Pendowski and came around to score on a single from first-year Kennedy Adkison (San Jose, Calif.).

- The Blue Jays plated a run on an RBI groundout in the second, but MIT responded in the third as Pendowski drilled a homer to left-center and Bivin singled home first-year Mikayla Cable (Valrico, Fla.) and Relihan to give the Engineers a 6-1 lead.

- Pendowski continued with her big day at the plate with a 3-run shot in the fourth to put MIT up 9-1. Junior Abby Shull (Cypress, Texas) later doubled home Relihan to make it a nine-run lead.

- Elmhurst got two runs back in the top of the fifth on an RBI double to center, however, in the bottom of the frame, Shull knocked in sophomore Rylie Spiegel (Bradenton, Fla.) to end the game.

- O'Connor grabbed the win as she allowed just two hits in 2.1 innings of work with one strikeout.

- MIT recorded 16 hits with Pendowski and Relihan leading the way with three hits each. Overall, 11 Engineers recorded a hit in the game.
