- The Lead: The MIT softball team wrapped up its Spring Break trip with three more victories to extend its winning streak to seven games. The Engineers got timely hitting and clutch pitching performances as the team will now head back to Cambridge to open NEWMAC play on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One vs. Colby

- MIT jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sophomore Mackenzie Relihan (Naperville, Ill.) ripped a double to center to plate sophomore Katia Pendowski (Elk Grove, Ill.) and junior Jordan Sell (Schwenksville, Pa.). Relihan then came around to score on a double steal for the third Engineer run of the inning.

-  First-year Dana Bell (Bensalem, Pa.) singled home Sell in the second to make it a four-run contest.

- The Mules scored four in the fifth to tie the game, and as the Engineers were batting in the bottom of the fifth with two outs and a runner on second, the game was halted due to rain.

- Upon resumption of the game the following day, first-year Kennedy Adkison (San Jose, Calif.), who was at the plate when the game was stopped, laced a double to center to score first-year Kristen Lee (Freehold, N.J.) and give MIT a 5-4 lead.

- First-year Becca O'Connor (San Antonio, Texas) pitched the final 2.2 innings to earn the win as she finished with two strikeouts and allowed just one run on three hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two vs. Hope

- Bell got MIT on the board in the first with an RBI double to left-center. The Engineers got four more runs in the third on an RBI single from Relihan followed by a double from Adkison that plated two more Engineers. First-year Mikayla Cable (Valrico, Fla.) wrapped up the scoring in the inning with an RBI single to score Adkison and make it a 5-0 lead.

- First-year Mackenzie Bivin (San Diego, Calif.) put MIT up 7-0 in the fifth and Bell sealed the win with an RBI single in the sixth to give MIT the 8-0 win.

- Senior Anya Chase (Wells, Maine) got the win with a complete-game one-hitter. She struck out nine batters and walked three.

- MIT tallied 13 hits with Bell leading the way with three.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Three vs. Wisconsin-Stevens Point

- Pendowski laced a double to left in the top of the third to plate sophomore Rylie Spiegel (Bradenton, Fla.), and Bivin extended the lead to 3-0 with a double down the line in the sixth to score Adkison and Lee.

- The three runs were more than enough for O'Connor in the circle as she tossed a complete game shutout surrendering just three hits and no walks while striking out three.
