Michael Finch (Brentwood, Tenn.), the MIT baseball team picked up an 11-10 comeback victory over Endicott College on Sunday afternoon at North Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- After the Engineers took a brief 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by junior
Jake Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) that scored junior
Kyle Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.), homers by Endicott's
Nicolas Notarangelo,
Dylan Pacheco and
Kyle Grabowski pushed the lead out to 8-1.

- Finch closed the Engineers to within 8-3 and in the seventh, the visitors put together a seven-hit attack that included a deep two-run homer from Finch that tied the game at 8-8. The Engineers later took the lead at 9-8 as sophomore
Phillip Hood (Grapevine, Texas) drove in junior
Graham Cartwright (La Jolla, Calif.) on a bases-loaded walk.

- In the ninth, Cartwright gave MIT the lead with a two-RBI single to right center before the Engineers secured the 11-10 win in the bottom of the frame.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- MIT outhit the Gulls by a 20-15 margin, led by a four-hit attack with three runs scored and four runs batted in from Finch.
Jake Sonandres and first-year
Malachi Soqui (Castaic, Calif.) both picked up three hits each and three other four other Engineers had multiple hits.

- Cartwright, who earned the save in the previous game, moved to 1-1 on the season with four innings of relief.
Rian Schwede took the loss as he is now 1-1 overall.
