The Lead:Â The 2022 fall season has begun for the MIT sailing team as the Engineers participated in a number of regattas over the weekend.

TONI DEUTSCH TROPHY | Cambridge, Mass. | 7th, and 14th of 18

- The Engineers 1 boat finished with 218 points to finish seventh overall. The A Division team earned 125 points and the B Division team finished with 93 points. They grabbed 10 top-five finishes including seven top-3 finishes.

- The Engineers 2 boat earned a 14th-place finish as the A and B Division teams totaled 329 points. The A Division team finished with 141 points and the B Division added 188. They earned four top-three finishes.

- Â With a total of 165 points (71 in the A Division and 94 in the B Division) the Engineers finished in fourth place, just four points behind Coast Guard for a third-place finish. The team put up seven top-three finishes including one victory.Â
HARVARD INVITATIONAL | Cambridge, Mass. | 4th, 6th, and 8th of 17
- The Engineers 1 boat finished fourth with 47 total points and finished with four top-five finishes.

- The MIT 2 boat earned a sixth-place finish with 64 points. The team grabbed three top-five finishes.
- Wrapping up the event was the Engineers 3 boat that finished with 68 points to finish in eighth with three top-five finishes.

UP NEXT:
- Next week will be busy for the Engineers with four events occurring during the weekend of September 17-18. MIT will host the Hatch Brown Trophy and other sailors will be competing in the Regis Trophy, at the Tufts Invite, and at the Singlehanded Nationals Qualifier.
