Men's Soccer's Late Rally Falls Short as MIT Drops 3-2 Match to Endicott

THE BASICS:

- Score: Endicott - 3, MIT - 2

- Records: MIT (0-2), Endicott (1-0-1)

- Location: Beverly, Mass. (Hempstead Stadium)

- The Lead: The MIT men's soccer team's late game-comeback fell just short as the Engineers fall to 0-2 on the season with a 3-2 loss on the road against Endicott on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Gulls got on the board first with a score from Conor Rooney exactly 30 minutes into the first half.

- MIT wasted little time in responding as just over four minutes later senior Rami Bikdash (Oak Ridge, N.C.) tied the game at one.

- Endicott took a two-goal lead with scores in the 49th and 52nd minutes of the second half. Richter Brzeski then made it a one-goal game in the 62nd minute.

- Bikdash and junior Aidan Hallinan (Carlsbad, Calif.) put shots on net in the game's waning minutes, but both were turned away as Endicott secured the 3-2 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Shots were fairly even in the match with MIT holding a slight 17-16 advantage. Both teams put eight shots on cage.

- The Gulls held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks and both squads were called for 11 fouls.

- Junior Lukas Hanson-Puffer (London, England) made five saves in the contest but is now 0-2 on the year.

UP NEXT:
- The Engineers will play their home opener on Tuesday, September 6 as they host No. 6 Tufts at 7 pm on Roberts Field.
