- The Lead: The MIT men's soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat to No. 6 Tufts on Tuesday night on Roberts Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Jumbos scored three goals in just under 10 minutes in the first half.
Ian Daly tucked a shot into the far-right post in the 30th minute for the first score and
Mark Huynh put one in the far post just three minutes later. Daly notched his second of the half on a penalty kick at 38:28.

- MIT's best scoring chances came early in the second half on shots from senior
Will Seiple (Boulder, Colo.) and sophomore
Joseph Gross (Miami, Fla.). Both chances were turned away by Tufts keeper
Erik Lauta.

- Tufts added two more goals in the second half from
James Gunn and
Mikey Brady to take the 5-0 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Jumbos outshot the Engineers 21-7 and put 10 shots on net while MIT had five on cage. Tufts also held a slight edge in corners at 8-5.

Paarth Desai (Lawrenceville, Ga.) got his first start in net this season and made five saves.
