- The Lead: At the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, the No. 3 MIT men's cross country team placed eighth out of 19 teams in the White Race and 12th out 19 squads in the Blue Race. The Engineers totaled 180 points in the White Race, along with 208 points in the Blue Race.

- In the White Race, senior
Cameron Kleiman (Austin, Texas) crossed in third in a time of 25:47.9, along with graduate student
Ellery Rajagopal (Harrison, N.Y.) in 31st at 26:45.5 and junior
Reece Shuttleworth (Arlington, Va.) at 55th place with a time of 27:16. First-year
Hunter Miller (Greencastle, Ind.) was the fourth scorer for the Engineers in that race in 57th place in 27:17.5, followed by first-year
Ayman Noreldaim (Iowa City, Iowa) in 69th place with a time of 27:33.7.

- In the Blue Race, graduate student
Matthew Schofield (Shorewood, Ill.) was the top finisher for MIT in 27th with a time of 25:02.8. Junior
Simon Opsahl (Redlands, Calif.) crossed in 62nd place in 25:46.7, followed with junior
Ziyad Hassan (Ashburn, Va.) at 75th in 25:56, junior
Sam Coutts (Pacific Grove, Calif.) at 76th place with a time of 25:57.5 and junior
Carlos Villa (Wadsworth, Ill.) in 87th place at 26:06.6.

- MIT returns to action on Saturday, October 28th as the Engineers travel to the NEWMAC Championship, which will be hosted by Smith College. The Engineers enter the meet as the 24-time defending conference champion and are the only team to ever win the NEWMAC men's cross country title.
