No. 9 Women's Soccer Falls to Colby, 4-0, in Non-Conference Action

- The Lead: The No. 9 MIT women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 road non-conference match to Colby on Sunday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Juniors Natalie Barnouw (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Mia Sedgwick (Wilmette, Ill.) put back-to-back shots on goal, but Colby netminder Mk Marshall turned them away to keep MIT off the board.
 
- The Mules took a 1-0 lead when Jackie Portogallo sent a pass to Pepper Joseph who found the back of the net at 18:21. Colby tacked on another goal by Corrigan Rayhill at 34:20 to go up two.
 
- A penalty kick goal from Sophie DiGrande at 61:01 gave the Mules a 3-0 advantage, and they added the final score on a Lucy Robinson goal at 89:07.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- MIT held a slight 14-13 advantage in shots, but the Mules put seven on target while the Engineers put four on goal.
 
- MIT held a commanding 12-2 advantage in corner kicks.
 
- Senior Morgan Everett (Danville, Pa.) made three saves and fell to 12-3-1.
