Men's Basketball Falls at Babson in Season Finale

THE BASICS:
 
- Score: Babson College 92, MIT 57
 
- Records: MIT (4-19, 2-12 NEWMAC); Babson College (17-8, 10-4 NEWMAC)
 
- Location: Babson Park, Mass. (Staake Gymnasium)
 
- The Lead: In the 2022-23 season finale, the MIT men's basketball team fell to Babson College by a 92-57 margin on Saturday afternoon at Staake Gym.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
- The game was even through the first 11 minutes as the Beavers held a slight 19-17 lead with 9:08 left in the first half after MIT first-year Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) nailed a three-pointer for his second of four triples on the afternoon. Babson countered with a strong 26-3 run though over the rest of the period to take a 45-20 lead into halftime.
 
- Babson shot 57.1 percent from the field in the second half and hit four three-pointers as the Beavers came away with the home victory.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
- Minicozzi led MIT with 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting, along with 17 points each from sophomore Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) and first-year Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.). Delgado-Gonzalez also added team-highs in rebounds with eight and assists with four in 36 minutes of play.
 
- Five Babson players ended the game in double figures, led by Mark Woolhouse with 18 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.
