Geneva, N.Y. (February 21) – The MIT field hockey team led all Division III programs with the highest team GPA and tied for first place with 11 Scholars of Distinction as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The Engineers, who compiled a 3.86 GPA on a 4.0 scale during the 2022 fall semester, were recipients of their 21st straight National Academic Team Award. This was the fourth year in a row and sixth time MIT has produced the highest GPA among Division III teams.

The Scholar of Distinction award recognizes student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. Below is a list of MIT's honorees:

Carly Briggs (Sr., Lexington, Mass.)
Faith Choe (So., San Diego, Calif.)
Anna Duncan (So., St. Louis, Mo.)
