The Lead: On Friday afternoon, the No. 31 MIT men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match to visiting Bates in the J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble.

- The Bobcats took wins in one and three doubles with sophomore
Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) and junior
Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) grabbing an 8-7 win. One and three doubles were also close with Bates taking one doubles in a tiebreak.

- Senior
Daniel Papacica (Carmel, Calif.) took a three-set victory in three singles (5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2) and senior
Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) won in straight-sets in six singles, 6-3, 6-3.
