No. 36 Men's Tennis Earns 9-0 Wins Over Emerson and Eastern Nazarene

- The Lead: The No. 36 MIT men's tennis team cruised to two 9-0 victories over visiting Emerson and Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday afternoon on the DuPont Tennis Courts.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED vs. EMERSON
 
- MIT dropped just three sets in doubles action that included an 8-0 win by first year Ethan Nguyen (Farmington, N.M.) and junior Joshua Masuda (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.).
 
- Nguyen and Masuda both won their singles contests by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores while junior Joseph Li (Naperville, Ill.) won his three singles match 6-0, 6-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED vs. EASTERN NAZARENE
 
- Junior Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) and senior Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) cruised to an 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles over Vittal Harith and Carlos Gallardo.
 
- Sophomore Ryan Xiao (Cary, N.C.) took a 6-0, 6-0 win over Harith in No. 2 singles, and first year Nicholas Liu (San Diego, Calif.) earned a 6-3, 7-5 win in five singles. Sophomore Benjamin Ebanks (New York City, N.Y.) wrapped up the day with a 7-6, 6-2 win in No. 6 singles over Franco Milivinti.

- The Engineers return to the courts on Friday, April 14 for a pivotal NEWMAC contest against No. 23 Babson at 3:30 p.m. Both teams enter with 5-0 conference records.
