- The Lead: At the San Diego Crew Classic, the MIT women's openweight crew team competed in the V8, the 2V8 and the 4+ over the two-day event in Mission Bay.

A LOOK INSIDE THE RACES:

- In heat 1 of the UCSD Cal Cup on Saturday morning, the Engineers finished in third out of six boats with a time of 7:13.810. Finishing .343 seconds ahead of UC San Diego, MIT advanced to Sunday's Cal Cup Grand Final. In that race, the Engineers powered to a second-place finish out of six boats as MIT crossed just in front of the Stanford lightweight crew in a time of 7:09.307.

- On Saturday, the MIT 4+ finished its heat in sixth place at 9:07.240 and moved onto Sunday's Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup Final 2. In the Petite Final, the Engineers put together a great push to finish in third and in front of Santa Clara with a time of 8:48.332.

- In their heat, the MIT 2V8 was fifth in a time of 7:30.581 and advanced to the Petite Final of the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy on Sunday morning. In the Petite Final, the Engineers finished in a final time of 7:36.034.
