The victory continues the Engineers' dominance as the team remains perfect in NEWMAC Tournament play with a 46-0 overall record and a 17-0 record against the Beavers. MIT avenges an earlier 6-3 loss to the Beavers with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- MIT took a 2-1 lead after doubles action with sophomore Wayne Nelms (Baltimore, Md.) and junior Sundeep Chakladar (Redondo Beach, Calif.) earning an 8-4 win in No. 2 doubles, and Papacica and junior Kailas Kahler (Pawtucket, R.I.) defeating Brady Anderson and Luis Utrilla 8-4 in No. 1 doubles.

- Papacica opened singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles to give MIT a 3-1 lead. The Beavers won in No. 6 and No. 3 singles, but Kahler took down Brooks Green 6-0, 7-5 in No. 1 action to get MIT within one point of the title.

- MIT's fifth point would come from senior Benji Grossman (Sands Point, N.Y.) for the second consecutive year as he took a hard-fought match, 7-5, 7-5 over Kain Yazdi in No. 5 singles for the decisive point.
