HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Jumbos put a five-run second inning and pushed to a 7-0 lead before MIT answered in the bottom of the fourth. Junior Kennan Gumbs (New York, N.Y.) homered for the second straight game and third time this season as his solo to right center made it 7-1.

- Senior Graham Cartwright (La Jolla, Calif.) led MIT with a 2-for-4 performance, while Henry Fleckner paced the Jumbos as he went 3-for-6 with six runs batted in and three runs scored.

- First-year Cole Foster (Austin, Texas) fell to 1-1 on the mound for MIT, while Liam Wilson moved to 1-0 on the season with two innings of perfect relief.
