- The Lead: In a non-conference matchup on a windy and cold Wednesday afternoon, the MIT baseball team fell to visiting Tufts University by a 20-1 final at Fran O'Brien Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The Jumbos put a five-run second inning and pushed to a 7-0 lead before MIT answered in the bottom of the fourth. Junior
Kennan Gumbs (New York, N.Y.) homered for the second straight game and third time this season as his solo to right center made it 7-1.

- Tufts closed with multiple runs in three of the next five innings as the Jumbos swept the two-game regular-season series with the Engineers.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Graham Cartwright (La Jolla, Calif.) led MIT with a 2-for-4 performance, while
Henry Fleckner paced the Jumbos as he went 3-for-6 with six runs batted in and three runs scored.
