- The Lead: Two goals from first year Nico Mangiafico (Farmington, Conn.) led the MIT men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Clark on Saturday afternoon on Roberts Field. With the win, the Engineers move to 3-0 in NEWMAC play and are tied atop the standings with Babson.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- The MIT offense looked to break through in the first 45 minutes of play, but Clark goalkeeper Andrew DiSefano turned away all six MIT shots on goal.

- MIT stole the ball from the Clark defense and senior Garrett Robinson (Winfield, Ill.) got the ball to Mangiafico who rifled a shot into the back of the net at 52:37.

- Sophomore Kaleb Asfaw (San Jose, Calif.) took advantage of another Clark miscue and sent the ball over to Mangiafico in front of the cage where the first year settled the bouncing ball and flicked a shot over DiSefano to make it 2-0 MIT at 86:50 and MIT held on for the win.
