SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The MIT women's openweight crew team combined for three top five finishes on Saturday at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Fish Creek. The Engineers earned bronze in the Women's Collegiate Eights and gold in the Women's Collegiate second varsity eight.  

THE BASICS: 

• Women's Collegiate 8+: 3rd of 15 
• Women's Collegiate 2V 8+: 1st, 5th of 19 

RACE BY RACE: 

• In the Women's Collegiate Eights, MIT only trailed first place Boston College (11:24.15) and second place Cornell (11:37.44), finishing with a competitive third place time of 11:46.24. 
• MIT earned a pair of top-five finishes In the Women's Collegiate 2V Eights, with the Engineers 2V8+ winning the event in 11:58.41. MIT's 3V8+ navigated the course in 12:29.00 to finish fifth. Both MIT and Cornell had two teams in the top five.
