FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Five players scored in double-figures, including senior guard Spencer Lin (Menlo Park, Calif.) who had 19 points and a game-high nine assists, to power the MIT men's basketball team to a 92-72 non-conference victory over Framingham State on Wednesday evening at Logan Gymnasium.
Sophomore Isaac Dobie (Kitty Hawk, N.C.) had a game-high 21 points for MIT, junior Rome Delgado-Gonzalez (Miami, Fla.) added 14 points, while sophomore Parker Spann (Omaha, Neb.) and classmate Tim Minicozzi (Belmont, Mass.) each added 12 points. Delgado-Gonzalez added a career-high eight assists for MIT.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Framingham State knocked down three consecutive three pointers in the opening two minutes of the game, taking a 9-0 lead when first year Marshall Kerley (Phoenix, Ariz.) hit the third triple at 18:00.
- The Engineers quickly erased the early deficit on the strength of 14-2 run, as Dobie knocked down three triples of his own and Lin added five points. Senior Adonis Vashon (Grand Rapids, Mich.) dropped in a layup to pull the Rams back within one, 14-13, at 15:10, but MIT would add five more points to stretch the lead to 19-13 following a Lin three pointer at 14:14.
- The MIT lead would grow to as many as 11 points in the first half, when a Lin triple at 5:38 made the score 36-25, and again when sophomore Wyatt Mowery (Winston-Salem, N.C) hit the first of two free throws at 3:44. The Engineers would eventually take a seven-point lead into the half.
- Five straight points from Delgado-Gonzalez at the start of the second half pushed the MIT advantage to 12 points, 48-36. The Rams countered with a 14-4 run that trimmed the deficit to one, 52-51, at the 13:45 mark of the second half.
- Dobie ended the Rams charge with a three-pointer at 13:27, reigniting the MIT offense near the midway point of the second half. MIT would go on to outscore Framingham State, 16-5 over the next five minutes of play, taking a 12-point lead when Minicozzi scored at 8:24.
- The MIT lead would continue to grow from there, as the Engineers' second half surge grew the lead to 18 points, at 79-61, when senior Kade Killeen (Austin, Texas) knocked in a triple with just under five minutes to play.
- The Engineers would lead by as many as 22 in the final two minutes of play before closing out the 20-point win, 92-72.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- MIT had 23 assists on 32 made baskets, finishing the contest shooting 32-of-57 (56.1%) from the floor and 15-of-31 (48.4%) from beyond the arc.
- MIT's 92 points were a season-high for the team and the most since MIT scored 94 points in a 94-93 win at Emerson on February 7 of last season.
- Lin's nine assists were one off of his career-high of ten. Lin has hit the ten-assist mark twice in his career.
- Wednesday was Dobie's fifth 20-point game of the season; he had eight 20+ point games all last season.
- Delgado-Gonzalez has now scored in double-figures in four of his last five games.
