The Lead:Â The No. 19 MIT men's volleyball team fell to No. 14 New York University in four sets on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- Set 1:Â The Engineers collected a pair of 5-0 runs and finished the set on a 10-3 run to win the set 25-12.
Â
- Set 2:Â The second set was a back-and-forth affair. With NYU leading 17-16, the Violets capitalized with a 5-0 run to brush past the Engineers, taking the set 25-18.

- Set 3:Â MIT had a steady advantage early in the set until the midway point. Leading 12-11, the Violets sparked a 5-0 run to take control of the set, going on to win 25-20.

- Set 4:Â A pair of 4-0 runs by NYU gave them an advantage as MIT was unable to gain momentum as the Violets took home the set and the match 25-16.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Graduate student
Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) led the match with 16 kills. Junior
Grant Oh (Irvine, Calif.) followed behind him with 12. Defensively, sophomore
Michael Rini (Huntington Beach, Calif.) collected four total blocks, followed by first-year
Ryan Espinoza (Los Angeles, Calif.) who had three. Sophomore
Kevin Windisch (Placentia, Calif.) collected six digs, and junior
Riley Oh (Irvine, Calif.) led the Engineers with 28 assists.
