The Lead:Â The 20th-ranked MIT men's volleyball team earned an upset win in UVC play as the Engineers took down No. 14 Hobart in four sets on Wednesday night in Rockwell Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- Set 1:Â With the Statesmen within one at 14-13, the Engineers went on a 6-2 run to take a 20-15 lead. MIT used another 5-3 run as back-to-back Hobart errors gave MIT the set, 25-16.

- Set 2:Â In a set that featured 17 ties and seven lead changes, Hobart rallied from trailing 17-14 to eventually take a 25-24 lead. The teams went back and forth before the Engineers took the set on back-to-back Hobart errors, 36-34.

- Set 3:Â First year
Ryan Espinoza (Los Angeles, Calif.) tied the match at five, but the visitors used a 10-4 run to go up 15-9. A kill from graduate student
Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) cut the visitor's lead to 24-19, but Hobart held on for the 25-19 win.

- Set 4:Â Trailing by one early in the set, back-to-back kills from Gustafson and Oh put MIT ahead 10-9, and they held onto the lead for the remainder of the set as an ace from sophomore
Ben Volokh (Studio City, Calif.) gave them the 25-21 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Gustafson led the team with 19 kills followed by Oh and Johnson with 11. Johnson and junior
Riley Oh (Irvine, Calif.) recorded five blocks in the match.

Riley Oh posted 44 assists in the match to go with 11 digs.
