The Lead: Trailing 2-1 after three sets, the  No. 20 Golden Flyers of Nazareth University stormed back and snuck past the Engineers in five sets in a UVC match in Rochester, NY.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Set 1 Tied at 12-12, MIT used a pair of 4-0 runs to take advantage of the set as one of those runs ultimately gave the Engineers the first set, 25-16.

- Set 2: The second set featured nine ties and five lead changes as both teams had a back-and-forth affair. With MIT leading 17-13, the Golden Flyers used a 4-0 run to tie it up and force an Engineer timeout. Several rallies later, Nazareth broke a 22-22 tie and wrapped up set two with three unanswered points.

- Set 3: MIT took the early lead in the set and would not look back as 15 of their 25 points came from kills. Junior Grant Oh (Irvine, Calif.) and sophomore Michael Rini (Huntington Beach, Calif.) produced five and four kills for the Engineers in the set, respectively.

- Set 4: Nazareth reversed roles this time and take the early lead in the set and not look back. The Golden Flyers would produce 20 kills in the set to fight their way back to bringing a final set.

- Set 5: With MIT trailing 11-10, the Engineers looked to try and sneak their way into claiming the match. However, three straight points by Nazareth stretched the lead to 14-10 and then a kill from the Golden Flyers would seal the deal, defeating MIT in five sets.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Graduate student Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) had a match-high 21 kills for the Engineers as Grant Oh collected 13. Senior Phillip Johnson (Chandler, Ariz.) had seven total blocks at the net while senior Max Turner (Chandler, Ariz.) had a match-high 40 assists and 10 digs.
