- Records:  MIT (18-7), AIC (2-15)

- The Lead: The No. 14 MIT men's volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over visiting AIC on Senior Day to conclude an 18-7 regular season for the Engineers. The 18 victories are the most for the team since MIT won 23 matches in 2019.

Before the match, MIT honored its five-person senior class of Samuel Kravitz (Cambridge, Mass.), Nathan Levandoske (Harvey, La.), Phillip Johnson (Chandler, Ariz.), Max Turner (Chandler, Ariz.), and Jack Roberson (Darien, Conn.).

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Set 1:  The two teams played a tightly contested first set that featured 15 ties and four lead changes. After the Engineers took a 12-9 lead, AIC scored the four to take a one-point lead before a kill from Johnson tied the set at 13. The Yellow Jackets pulled even at 23, but a kill from junior Riley Oh (Irvine, Calif.) and an AIC error gave MIT the first set, 25-23.

- Set 2: AIC pulled even at 12, but Levandoske kill put MIT back in the lead, and the Engineers ended the set on a 12-6 run as a kill from graduate student Nick Gustafson (San Diego, Calif.) gave MIT the 25-18 set win.

- Set 3: Trailing 7-5, MIT went on a 5-0 run to take a 10-7 lead and the Engineers never looked back as a kill from first-year Kevin Zhu (Dublin, Calif.) gave the Engineers the 25-17 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Turner led MIT with 26 assists and four digs. Gustafson posted 11 kills, two aces, two solo blocks, and six block assists.

- Johnson finished with four kills, one block, and seven block assists. Oh added nine kills and three digs.
