The Lead: The MIT baseball team dropped a 9-2 decision to No. 1 Endicott on Wednesday afternoon at Fran O'Brien Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Gulls got on the board early with five runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run double from
TJ Liponis.
- Endicott scored four more runs over the next two innings, including an RBI double from
John Mulready in the third, stretching the Endicott lead to 9-0.
- MIT got on the board in the sixth as graduate student
Kyle Sonandres (Torrance, Calif.) doubled to left field.
An inning later, senior
Kennan Gumbs (New York, N.Y.) sent a base hit to right-center to make it 9-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sonandres went 2-for-4 at the plate for MIT while
Danny MacDougall went 2-for-3 for Endicott.
