WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 4 MIT women's swimming and diving team defeated two top-10 teams at the Samuelson-Muir Pool in Williamstown, Mass. on Friday afternoon. The Engineers defeated No. 9 and hosts Williams and No. 3 NYU.
MIT won eight events and achieved 10 NCAA B Cut marks.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
400 Medley Relay
- The Engineers opened the meet in impressive fashion with an almost two-second win over Williams in the event. Senior Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.), first year Sarah Bernard (Brookline, Mass.), graduate student Alexandra Turvey (Vancouver, B.C.), and sophomore Ella Roberson (Midland, Mich.) clocked in at 3:47.74 with Williams finishing in 3:50.55.
1650 Free
- First year Lauren Adler (Ann Arbor, Mich.) won in 17:20.70, defeating Daria Chtokolov (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) of NYU by almost 11 seconds.
200 Free
- Roberson took second in the event with a time of 1:52.36 as Kaley McIntyre (Novato, Calif.) of NYU just beat her out by clocking in a 1:52.24.
100 Back
- Augustyn and sophomore Sydney Smith (Atlanta, Ga.) took second and third in the event. Augustyn clocked in at 55.80 with Smith finishing in 57.06.
100 Breast
- Bernard won the event in 1:04.61. Sophomore Anna Li (Boyds, Md.) finished in fifth with a time of 1:06.52.
200 Fly

- Turvey clocked in with a time of 24.10 good for second. Junior Annika Naveen (Wynnewood, Pa.) finished third in 24.30.

- Beratahani completed the sweep with a score of 327.80

- Roberson took second overall with a time of 51.69 with Smith finishing in fourth with a time of 53.22.
200 Back
- Augustyn finished second with a time of 2:01.78.

- Bernard completed the sweep of the breaststroke events clocking in first with a time of 2:20.26. Li took third in 2:24.51.
500 Free
- First year Jessica Crane (Katonah, N.Y.) and Swartwood swept the top two spots for MIT. Crace clocked in at 5:08.25 followed by Swartwood with a time of 5:09.73.
100 Fly
- Turvey clocked in with a time of 57.73 for second place. First year Rachel Yang (San Diego, Calif.) finished in fourth with a time of 58.47.
400 IM
- Bernard took second with a time of 4:28.89.
200 Free Relay
- Turvey, Naveen, Augustyn, and Roberson ended the meet with a win in the 200 Free relay with a time of 1:34.64.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The 400 medley relay and 200 free relay squads recorded NCAA B Cuts with their wins.
- Adler registered a B Cut with her mile win.
- Augustyn recorded and NCAA B Cut in the 100 and 200 Back.
- Bernard hit an NCAA B Cut time in the 100 and 200 Breast as well as in the 400 IM.
