INDIANAPOLIS, IN. - MIT women's swimming and diving senior
Annika Naveen has earned the NCAA Elite Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2026 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship.
Naveen, who won the NEWMAC Laurels of Academic Excellence at the conference meet this season, sports a 4.0 GPA and is pursuing her degree in Biological Engineering. She has earned two All-America honors so far at the meet and has collected 11 total in her career. She is also a three-time National Champion. Naveen is the second individual from the program to earn the award, joining Margaret Guo who won the award in the 2014-15 season.
The Elite Scholar Athlete Award, founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite Scholar Athlete Award presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.
Eligible student-athletes are sophomores or above who have participated in their sport for at least two years with their school. All ties are broken by the number of credits completed.
