CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 10 Wheaton used two quick second half goals to secure a 3-0 win over the MIT men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon on Roberts Field.
Prior to the match, the Engineers honored their graduating class of Ethan Reich, Kai McClennen, Kaleb Asfaw, Nicolas Stone Perez, and Adam Cohen.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A corner kick from Aidan Doyle was kicked around in front of the goal and the ball made its way to Leao Nelson who just got enough on his kick to get the ball over the line on in the left corner of the net at 15:08.
- Eric Lohse looked to tie the match late in the first but his shot sailed just wide of the goal.
- Chase Carroll had another scoring chance for the Engineers, but his shot in the 72nd minute was turned away by Michael O'Gara.
- The Lyons scored two goals in under a minute to secure the win. Declan Rhatigan collected a rebound for the goal at 83:34 and Gael Vera got the ball near midfield and raced past the defense and put the ball into the corner of the net at 84:58.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Wheaton held a 19-7 advantage in shots.
- Paolo Mangiafico made seven stops in goal.
- Nelson scored his third of the season while Rhatigan got his ninth and Vera scored his fifth.

- MIT plays its final regular season home game as they welcome Clark to Roberts Field on Wednesday, October 22 for a 7:00 PM kickoff. The Lyons will host WPI for a 3:30 PM match on the 22nd.
