No. 12 MIT Men's Swim and Dive Takes 234-55 Victory Over Bowdoin

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 12 MIT men's swimming and diving team defeated Bowdoin College 234-55 on Saturday afternoon at the Zesiger Center Pool. 

THE BASICS:    

  • Scores: No. 12 MIT 234, Bowdoin 55 

HOW IT HAPPENED:    

  • 400 Medley Relay: Nathan Kim, Grant Hu, Eric Huang, and Evan Wong won the race in 3:26.68, besting teammates Aitor Arrese-Igor, Nathan WuNathan Zhu, and Ethan Fang who finished in 3:27.25. 
  • 1000 Free: MIT finished 1-2 led by Grant Hu with a time of 9:44.24. Kelson Cantrell followed in second with a time of 10:03.12. 
  • 200 Free: Jason Wang led the way in the event with a first-place finish in 1:43.56. He was followed by teammates John TietjenGidean Karp, and Mark O'Mara.  
  • 100 Back: Arrese-Igor and Eric Huang both touched the wall in 52.40 to share the top spot for MIT.   
  • 100 Breast: Daniel Seong took the win with a mark of 58.40 followed by Wu in second with a time of 59.13. 
  • 200 Fly: Zhu won the event in 1:54.34.  
  • 50 Free: Kim took the top spot in 21.20 holding off Jack Tran of Bowdoin who finished .02 seconds behind Kim. 
  • 1 Meter Diving: Truman Remenicky won the event with a score of 294.23. 
  • 100 Free: Arrese-Igor took his second win of the afternoon with a time of 47.61. Caden Wong finished second followed by Alvin Tsai and Karp. 
  • 200 Back: Ian Sun and Zack West took the top two spots. Sun finished in 1:54.17 while West finished in 1:54.84.  
  • 200 Breast: Seong earned a sweep of the breast events with his winning time of 2:09.26. 
  • 500 FreeEvan Wong earned his first individual win with a time of 4:42.14. 
  • 100 Fly: Kim grabbed his third win of the day, winning the event in 50.31. 
  • 3 Meter Diving: Remenicky swept the boards with a time of 252.00 
  • 200 IM: Wang took the top spot in 1:52.05. 
  • 200 Free Relay: Kim, Evan Wong, Anthony Koh, and Bryce Roberts won the event in 1:25.10. 

UP NEXT:    

  • MIT will host its annual MIT Winter Invite from Friday, December 5 – Sunday, December 7 at the Zesiger Center Pool.
