CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The No. 3 MIT women's swimming and diving team captured a 209.5-86.5 win over No. 23 Amherst at the Zesiger Center Pool on Saturday afternoon to conclude the regular season for the Engineers.
Prior to the beginning of the meet, MIT recognized its senior class of: Kate Augustyn (Eau Claire, Wis.), Katie Cowley (Louisville, Ky.), Miri Griffin (Centennial, Colo.), Jolie Kim (Englewood, Colo.), Rachel Loh (Arcadia, Calif.), Sarah Lu (Katy, Texas), Stella Shipps (Cedar Park, Texas), Chloe Swanson (Minneapolis, Minn.), Iris Yang (Seattle, Wash.), and Emma Zhu (Chappaqua, N.Y.).

- Score: No. 3 MIT 209.5, No. 23 Amherst 86.5
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 200 Medley Relay: The Engineers opened the meet with a win as Augustyn, first-year Sarah Bernard (Brookline, Mass.), junior Annika Naveen (Wynnewood, Pa.), and sophomore Sydney Smith (Atlanta, Ga.) took the win in 1:45.22, almost two seconds ahead of second-place Amherst.
- 1000 Free: First-year Lauren Adler (Ann Arbor, Mich.) won the event in 10:23.43.
- 200 Free: First-year Jessica Crane (Katonah, N.Y.) took the win in 1:55.33 followed by graduate student Alexandra Turvey (Vancouver, B.C.) in second with a mark of 1:55.88.
- 100 Back: Smith took the top spot with a time of 57.49 followed by sophomore Anna Li (Boyds, Md.) in second with a time of 59.91.
- 100 Breast: Bernard won the event in 1:05.34. Kailey Simons (Williston Park, N.Y.) took third with a time of 1:08.00.
- 200 Fly: First-year Mary Feliz (Millersville, Md.) clocked in first overall with a time of 2:07.58.
- 50 Free: Sophomore Ella Roberson (Midland, Mich.) took the win in 24.02. First-year Olivia Chen (Plano, Texas) finished in second with a time of 24.68.
- 3-Meter Diving: Sophomore Fiora Beratahani (San Jose, Calif.) won the event with an NCAA Regional score of 528.53.
- 100 Free: Naveen finished second with a time of 53.65 and junior Kathy Zhao (Cincinnati, Ohio) took fourth in 56.66.
- 200 Back: Augustyn won the event in 2:04.81 followed by Chen with a time of 2:08.47.
- 200 Breast: Bernard completed the sweep of the breaststroke event finishing with a time of 2:21.72.
- 500 Free: Feliz notched her second win of the day, taking the top spot in 5:11.98.
- 100 Fly: The Engineers swept the top three spots led by Smith with a time of 56.20. Junior Natalie Tang (Allen, Texas) followed in second and Roberson finished third.
- 1-Meter Diving: Beratahani completed the sweep of the boards with a top score of 489.37.
- 200 IM: Li took second (2:09.48) followed by Crane in third with a time of 2:12.58.
- 400 Free Relay: The Engineers ended the meet just like they started it with a relay win. Turvey, Smith, first-year Lillian Poag (Houston, Texas), and Roberson won in 3:30.60.

Select individuals will compete at the BU Winter Open which takes place from Friday, February 7-Saturday, February 8. The team will then travel to Worcester, Mass. for the NEWMAC Championships that will take place Thursday, February 20-Sunday February 23.
