SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Five members of the No. 2 MIT women's swimming and diving team took part in the NCAA Diving Regional 1-Meter board competition. Sophomore Fiora Beratahani (San Jose, Calif.) and senior Rachel Loh (Arcadia, Calif.) led the way for the Engineers, finishing in the top-five.
Beratahani took third overall with a score of 427.80. Sydney Bluestein of Amherst won the event with 469.70 points followed by Issara Schmidt of NYU with 463.80 points. Loh finished fifth with a score of 417.40. Sophomore Kailey Epstein (Belle Mead, N.J.) totaled 385.20 points, first year Maya Zavatsky (Somerset, N.J.) tallied 360.35 points, and junior Larissa Gosslau (Chicago, Ill.) finished with 354.85 points.
The Engineers will compete on the 3-Meter board tomorrow, Saturday, March 1 with competition beginning at approximately 3:00 PM.
