BOSTON, Mass. - The No. 2 MIT women's swimming and diving team wrapped up at the Boston University Winter Open on Saturday at the FitRec Competition Pool. The Engineers will now take time off to prepare for the NEWMAC Championships which begin on Thursday, February 20 in Worcester, Mass. on the campus of WPI. 

THE BASICS:    

• Score: No Team Score 

HOW IT HAPPENED:   

• 100 Fly: Senior Sarah Lu (Katy, Texas) took 13th with a time of 58.78. Senior Stella Shipps (Cedar Park, Texas) finished in 15th with a time of 59.19 and junior Kathy Zhao (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished in 1:00.35. 
• 400 IM: First year Chloe Xu (Pleasanton, Calif.) finished second overall with a time of 4:29.70 and sophomore Katherine Yao (Frisco, Texas) took eighth in 4:40.70. 
• 200 Free: Senior Miri Griffin (Centennial, Colo.) finished in 1:56.51 and senior Jolie Kim (Englewood, Colo.) clocked in with a time of 2:00.27. Graduate student Aria Eppinger (Pittsburgh, Pa.) completed the event in 2:01.94 and senior Chloe Swanson (Minneapolis, Minn) finished in 2:02.56. Junior Emma Zhu (Chappaqua, N.Y.) produced a time of 2:08.32.  
• 100 Breast: Sophomore Katie Kudela (Matthews, N.C.) led the way with a fourth-place finish (1:06.83). Zhao clocked in with a time of 1:09.61 
• 3-Meter Dive: First year Maya Zavatsky (Somerset, N.J.) led the way in eighth with a score of 160.85 followed by sophomore Kailey Epstein (Belle Mead, N.J.) and junior Larissa Gosslau (Chicago, Ill.). 
• 200 Medley Relay: Xu, Yao, Swanson, and Shipps took fourth with a time of 1:49.20 followed by Lu, Kudela, Zhao and Griffin in fifth with a time of 1:51.44. 
• 1650 Free: Kim posted a time of 18:15.48 and Eppinger finished in 18:56.16. 
• 200 Free Relay: Shipps, Griffin, Kudela, and Zhao finished third with a time of 1:37.36. 
• 200 Back: Xu took seventh with a time of 2:07.67. 
• 100 Free: Shipps posted a time of 53.71, Griffin finished in 54.29 and Zhu in 54.97. Eppinger touched the wall in 55.89 and Swanson in 57.57. 
• 200 Breast: Yao finished in fourth followed by Kudela in fifth. Yao swam a 2:24.17 and Kudela swam a time of 2:27.17. Zhao finished in 2:32.55. 
• 200 Fly: Xu finished in 2:05.22 for a third-place finish. Lu took seventh in 2:07.83 
• 400 Medley Relay: Griffin, Kudela, Zhao, and Yao finished in fifth with a time of 4:05.65 followed by Lu, Zhu, Swanson, and Kim in seventh with a time of 4:18.96.
