CAMBRIDGE Mass. - No. 3 Springfield defeated the MIT men's volleyball team 3-0 on Wednesday night at Rockwell Cage. 

THE BASICS:  

• Score: Springfield 3, MIT 0 (25-11, 25-22, 25-17) 
• Records: MIT (10-11Overall), Springfield (17-2 Overall) 

HOW IT HAPPENED  

• Set 1: The Pride jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and never looked back as they led wire-to-wire. A kill from junior Kevin Windisch (Placentia, Calif.) got MIT to within three, but Springfield ended the match on a 7-0 run.  
• Set 2: Three consecutive points from MIT gave the Engineers their first lead of the match as a kill from first year Kristof Spellen (New Rochell, N.Y.) gave MIT the 8-6 lead. The Pride pulled even at 13 and the teams went back-and-forth before Springfield pulled away and a kill from Jake DesLauriers gave them set two, 25-22.  
• Set 3: After a kill from senior Grant Oh (Irvine, Calif.) tied the match at nine, Springfield pulled away, recording then next five points to go up 14-9. A kill from Oh an ace from first year Maddox Brandenburg (Carlsbad, Calif.) made it a 23-17 set, however the Pride notched the next two points for the win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

• Oh led MIT with ten kills followed by Brandenburg and Spellen with four. 
• Windisch added five digs and an assist. First year Warren Nam (Glendale, Calif.) led MIT with 10 assists. 

UP NEXT: 

• The Engineers will welcome Arcadia and Rivier to Rockwell Cage on Saturday, March 15 for a tri-match beginning at 12:00 PM. The Pride will host Russell Sage on Friday, March 14 at 6:00 PM.
