Women’s Openweight Crew Competes with No. 22 Dartmouth, Northeastern, BU

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 22 Dartmouth captures both the varsity eight and second varsity eight races as the MIT women's openweight crew team raced the Big Green, as well as crosstown rivals Boston University and Northeastern, in cold conditions that included a strong, gusty tailwind and chop on Saturday morning on the Charles River.

RACE BY RACE:

V8+: Dartmouth owned the opening race of the morning, finishing in 6:24.1, over three seconds ahead of the Terriers (6:27.7). Northeastern was just off the pace of BU's runner-up crew, taking third in 6:29.0. MIT finished fourth in 6:41.9.
2V8+: Dartmouth pulled away from the other three crews in the 2V8+ race, finishing in 6:33.1. Northeastern was the runner-up, as the Huskies recorded a time of 6:40.8. BU followed in third, just a few seats back with a time of 6:41.3. MIT was fourth in 6:55.3.
V4+: BU took the top time in the first fours race, finishing well ahead of Dartmouth with a time of 7:29.1, Dartmouth took second in 7:26.8, with Northeastern in third in 7:46.4. MIT was just off the pace of the Huskies, taking fourth in 7:49.4.
2V4+: MIT's second four was fourth in the final race of the day. BU was victorious once again, finishing with a time of 7:39.8. Dartmouth was second in 7:41.9, with Northeastern in third in 7:56.9, followed by MIT in 8:03.2. BU's 3V4+ was fifth in 8:37.1.
