Moore, Tubbs Named to CSC Academic All-America Baseball Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Zev Moore (Jerusalem, Israel) and senior Reed Tubbs (Pflugerville, Texas) have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team, as both earned their first Academic All-America honors. Moore was selected to the Second Team while Tubbs was named to the Third Team.

Moore, a Mathematical Economics and Finance major, finished the year leading the team in batting average (.378), home runs (10), and OPS (1.170). He was a ABCA First Team All-Region and NEWMAC First Team All-Conference selection this season and is a two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference member. Off the field, Moore was awarded the MIT Burchard Scholar for excellence in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences and is an undergraduate researcher at the MIT Economics Department. Additionally, he was a member of the Israel Association of Baseball, winning the Most Valuable Player in two of the last three competitions.

Tubbs earned NEWMAC First Team All-Conference as well as ABCA First Team All-Region this season, finishing the year third on the team with a .340 batting average. He hit six home runs and knocked in 35 runs while stealing a team-high 19 bases. Off the diamond, Tubbs earned his degree in Chemical Engineering and is a two-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference selection. He interned with Saint-Gobain Research North America and was an undergraduate researcher at the Sublime Systems and Brushett Lab. Tubbs also volunteered at the Young Men's Service League where he helped build playscapes and coordinated back-to-school drives for foster children.

The Academic All-America Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom.
