HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England — The MIT women's openweight crew team was defeated by the University of Bristol in the opening heats of The Island Challenge Cup on Wednesday at the Henley Royal Regatta 2025 on the River Thames in Henley-On-Thames, England, as the Engineers wrapped-up the 2024-25 season at the "the best-known regatta in the world."
Founded in 1839, the Henley Royal Regatta attracts thousands of teams, spectators and visitors from around the world as crews compete in 27 events across five categories, racing race head-to-head on a 2,112 meter course.
